Reblog: The Lucky Ones by Lise MacTague

A profound and lyric essay by Lise MacTague that resonated with me and I think will with many of you.

We know we’re the lucky ones because we’ve survived. It could be worse. But many of the things we feel “lucky” for are things no one should have to endure.

THE LUCKY ONES

Please comment and like and do all that on Lise’s blog. She deserves your props. (While you’re there, check out her other blogs and her books.)

  1. Gosh do I get it! We’re planning on moving across the country & have to worry about getting into a “safe” area. You never know how accepting people are. I absolutely hate having to even think about it. Moving by itself is so stressful.

    • I’ve been “lucky” to have times in my life in public where u didn’t fear harassment. I’m grateful for them but not happy about it. Because my luck could run out any day, any time.
